We’re a co-operative, transforming the digital essentials for business owners.
Last October, I decided that I’d had enough. My progressive marketing skills, that should be invaluable, were now overlooked by leadership in favour of short sighted quick wins.
I felt it was time to use what I’ve learnt, to build a legacy. Where I live, in Okehampton.
A journey back to my roots
My journey started in 2003. I began working for agencies around Okehampton as a graphic and web designer and helped local businesses improve their brands. 2008 to 2019, I moved to Bristol and built a successful career in web development. Returning to the shire as a seasoned marketing expert, I have worked remotely for Enterprises for over a decade.
At the end of 2024, I became self-employed. Immediately, I crossed paths with Patrick, a farmer turned developer running KB Software in Hatherleigh. Patrick has been connecting digital ecosystems locally for over a decade, from large aerospace wholesalers to agricultural farmers.
Patrick wanted to build a business that wasn’t just about profit but purpose, sustainability, and collaboration. He’d reached out to locals to form a co-operative, but finding the right people had proven difficult. This resonated with me.
It turned out, I was the right person at the right time.
Building a digital co-op for Devon businesses
Founding colleague Matt, joined the co-op, and together we mapped out how we could holistically blend marketing, technology, and training to offer something unique: a full-service digital transformation organisation designed specifically for micro-sized to small businesses in Mid-Devon.
December 2024, we had successfully applied to the UK Co-ty and KB Software became Design Pitch Limited—a new breed of digital company with a local heart.
Why this matters now more than ever
With Micro business under immense pressure. Shops open for six months and close down. It would be great for our children not to have to work in Exeter and aspire to owning local businesses. Put simply, no-one wants to just survive, right?
With economic uncertainty and rising costs, business owners are focusing on basic survival. 96% of UK businesses are micro-sized (0-9 employees), and most are run by solo entrepreneurs juggling daily operations while trying to stay competitive. Marketing, technology, and training often take a backseat—there simply isn’t enough time or expertise to do them justice.
Our approach is simple: help owners do more with less effort. We combine:
- Marketing that builds a brand that lasts
- System Integration that digitally streamlines operations, making businesses more efficient and sustainable
- Business Training that is localised and empowers owners with the knowledge and skills to adapt and thrive
Our goal is to transform the way small businesses operate. We want to make them more resilient, more adaptable, and ultimately, more successful.
Why this matters now more than ever
The agricultural sector alone has over 1,280 business owners in our local area, many of whom are looking for ways to modernise and sustain their businesses. Having spent time farming ourselves, we understand the unique challenges they face. But it’s not just farmers—whether it’s a café in Okehampton, a tradesperson in Hatherleigh, or a startup in the heart of Devon, we believe every owner deserves access to the same level of expertise and innovation that big companies take for granted.
Since launching, we’ve already welcomed new customers who have heard about what we’re doing and reached out to partner with us. We’re excited to see the momentum building.
